“Tossed by the raging storms of increasing secularism, a global pandemic, and an impending environmental crises, we the Church are challenged by Mark to remain steadfast in faith in Christ, firm in hope, and unwavering in our mission to serve all God’s people, particularly the most vulnerable among us. We are to steer the ship, the Church, through the stormy waters and share the gift of life and hope with those who are overwhelmed by the sea. Simply put, now is the time for us to be the Church and not a time for us to relinquish our responsibilities. The question for us then is this: will we remain faithful to our ministry to proclaim the gospel even when it may not be easy, or convenient, to do?”
